I'm not against the freedom to own a weapon. Our homes, our communities, even our country is at risk of attack every day. But as the numbers show, too many people are being killed who are not necessarily a threat. They are often innocent bystanders.
We need to find a better way to keep guns away from high risk people. As some of you know, I struggle with bipolar disorder and PTSD. It would be STUPID for someone to sell me a weapon! Yet with the current guidelines, I could go anywhere and purchase a weapon.
This needs to change. Next time someone suggests gun control, instead of going all knee jerk about the topic, try to come up with viable solutions that will allow responsible folks to keep their ability to protect themselves, while removing and restricting access to the unstable ones. Send those reasonable suggestions to your representatives in Congress at state and national levels. Inform them.
